Some 80 people were arrested over the weekend during the Occupy Wall Street protests in New York—mostly for disorderly conduct and obstructing traffic. The NYPD, however, is facing criticism about its conduct after videos emerged showing what may be excessive force: in one, a group of female protesters penned by an orange fence are approached and pepper-sprayed by a high-ranking officer. In another, a man is thrown to the ground for no apparent reason. In a separate but potentially worse headache for the NYPD, the Daily News says several officers were caught on wiretaps using racist language.
