Obama: ‘I Could Win’ Third Term

While addressing the assembled leaders in Ethiopia on Tuesday, President Obama jokingly said he could win a third term if he was allowed to run again. “I love my job,” he said. “But under our Constitution, I cannot run again. I actually think I’m a pretty good president. I think if I ran, I could win—but I can’t!” Earlier, Obama was criticized for calling Ethopia’s government “democratically elected,” which, with one-party control acquired in a sham election, it is not. Obama also took aim at African leaders who refuse to give up power and fail to respect human rights, saying they “may have democracy in name, but not in substance.”
