David Simon, co-creator of the classic TV cop drama The Wire, might have been inspired to create a new series from his recent sit-down with President Obama.
The two talked mostly about the intersecting web of problems caused by the illegal drug trade, but the Fanboy-in-Chief managed to get in a few moments to nerd out about Simon’s show, which Obama calls—rightly so—“one of the greatest pieces of art in the last couple of decades.” Sadly, we don’t find out if the president has a Clay Davis impression.
President Obama has been taken to task for not focusing as much on the drug war as his predecessors but we can hope that this interview is a sign that that will change.
