Former President Barack Obama on Tuesday publicly applauded Jimmy Kimmel’s tear-filled plea for lawmakers and President Trump to not repeal Obamacare provisions, especially the one protecting coverage for individuals with pre-existing conditions. “Well said, Jimmy,” the ex-president wrote on Twitter. “That’s exactly why we fought so hard for the ACA, and why we need to protect it for kids like Billy. And congratulations!” Kimmel on Monday evening’s Jimmy Kimmel Live shed tears during a monologue recalling his son’s birth last week and the heart defect that required the newborn to have immediate surgery.
