BEST OF BOTH WORLDS?

Country singer Billy Ray Cyrus is slated to perform at one of Donald Trump’s inauguration festivities next weekend, despite the president-elect’s recent jab toward his pop star daughter.

Trump’s Inaugural Committee announced Wednesday that Cyrus, along with fellow country artists Jason Aldean, Rascal Flatts and Kid Rock, would be performing at a host of events over the weekend including The Make America Great Again Victory Rally and Liberty Ball.

The “Achy Breaky Heart” singer will join disco group the Village People in performing at the MAGA Victory Rally on Jan. 18.

Unlike her father, Miley has publicly endorsed the Democratic party across several elections—including Hilary Clinton’s run in 2016 and Vice President Kamala Harris’ in 2024.

At a Bitcoin conference in Nashville in July last year, Trump poked fun at the pop icon’s politics while giving a shout out to her dad, who was in attendance.

“Billy Ray Cyrus is here. Where is Billy Ray? He’s around here someplace, and he’s great,” Trump said at the time. “He’s a conservative guy. I said, ‘How did you get such a liberal daughter?’ How had that happened, Billy Ray?”

Following months of speculation that the two were estranged, the Disney Channel alum addressed the rumors about her turbulent relationship with her father while appearing on David Letterman’s Netflix series My Next Guest Needs No Introduction in June last year.

Along with denying that there was an “estrangement,” per Teen Vogue, Miley also praised her father for being a mentor to her growing up.

“He has a relationship and a foot on the ground to the real and to nature, and he always did, even when he was super famous,” she shared.

“I’m grateful for being able to watch him ahead of me,” she continued. “He’s almost, like, given me this map, and there is a map of what to do and what not to do, and he’s guided me on both.”
