It didn’t take long for fans to identify the man as Carpenter’s ex, Barry Keoghan, an Irish actor known for his starring role in 2023’s Saltburn, who also happens to be the song’s main subject. The callout is almost confirmed when the camera lingers on the man’s outfit, which is suspiciously similar to the one Keoghan wore for his appearance in the original music video for “Please, Please, Please.”

The reaction from Carpenter’s fans to this callout has been, shall we say, nothing short of jubilant, mainly because there are rumors that Keoghan cheated on Carpenter, resulting in the end of their relationship.
