Selena Gomez recently revealed that she was once “mortified” when she showed up to her bestie Taylor Swift’s party before anyone else.
“It was kind of cute, but I was mortified,” Gomez said on Spotify’s Countdown To on Wednesday. “Apparently, cool people don’t show up to parties on time.”
Her fiancé, music producer Benny Blanco, jumped in.
“We’re the first people at every single party when I go with you,” he teased. “You show up when, like, my mother shows up to a party.”

The couple—who announced they were dating in December 2023 and got engaged a year later—joined the show to promote their upcoming collaborative album, I Said I Love You First and also discussed the beginnings of their relationship.
“I knew right after we kissed, I was like, ‘Oh, wow, I’m probably going to marry this person,’” Blanco recalled. “Well, I didn’t say ‘marry.’ But I was, like, ‘I’m probably going to have a baby with this person.’”
Gomez chimed in, saying: “Well, I guess we’ll release this album and let the world hear our little baby.”
According to Blanco, the songs on the album are “the best music [they] could have made together.”
Gomez and Swift have been friends since 2008, when each of them was dating one of the Jonas brothers. Swift was one of the first to celebrate Gomez’s engagement in a post on Instagram, writing, “Yes, I will be the flower girl.”
I Said I Love You First is set to be released on March 21.
