HE'S A SWIFTIE

It’s very relatable.

After his Super Bowl loss against the Philadelphia Eagles, Travis Kelce found the ultimate remedy for his broken heart—Taylor Swift’s music. Because when you’re reeling from a tough defeat, there’s truly nothing like belting out your girlfriend’s greatest hits to kick-start the healing process.

On February 26, Kelce dropped the latest episode of New Heights, the podcast he hosts with his brother, Jason Kelce. In the episode, the two discussed a crucial topic: When feeling “down,” do they reach for uplifting tunes or lean into the mood with some melancholic melodies?

“Jason, the only way you can find yourself in the light is to find yourself in the dark first,” Kelce said, reflecting on his recent depression following the Kansas City Chiefs’ tough loss to the Eagles. “I listen to music that is very telling of my mood.”

While Jason said he prefers sad country songs when he’s feeling blue, Travis admitted that his go-to is Taylor’s music.

“I just listen to Taylor’s music,” Kelce said with a grin. “She has something for everything.”

It seems her music soothes even football heartbreaks. The Eagles beat the Chiefs 40-to-22 at the Super Bowl—A loss that appears to be affecting Kelce in particular because he was reportedly quite sick in the weeks leading up to the game.

“We’re never gonna make excuses,” Brett Veach, Kansas City Chiefs manager, said on the NFL podcast The Insiders. “But I mean, yeah, [Kelce] was battling a pretty big illness there before the Super Bowl.”

Though this marks the first time Kelce has openly admitted to turning to Swift’s tunes when he’s feeling down, it certainly isn’t the first time he’s gushed about being a fan of her or her music.

In fact, the two started dating after Kelce gave Swift a friendship bracelet with his number on it during the Kansas City stop on her Eras tour in 2023.

Can you say meet-cute?
