Officials in the Dominican Republic have recovered two unidentified bodies that they believe are the New York couple who went missing in March, CNN reports. Orlando Moore and Portia Ravenelle were expected to return to New York on March 27, according to Moore’s half-sister, Lashay Turner, who reported them missing March 29. An unconscious woman—who fit Ravenelle’s description but was not carrying identification—was found March 27 on a road to an international airport in Santo Domingo. The woman was transported to Doctor Dario Contreras Hospital, where she died April 4. On March 31, the body of a man with the tattoo that read “Milano” on his right arm, which fit Moore’s description, was found in the ocean near the Santo Domingo neighborhood of Sans Souci. The bodies have been fingerprinted and autopsies are pending. Authorities believe the couple was on the way to the airport on the morning of March 27 when their rental car plunged into the ocean. The couple never appeared on surveillance footage from airport cameras.
