A passenger who died mid-flight on board an Air France flight to Boston on Tuesday fell ill after departing from Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport, the airline said in a statement to NBC Boston. A doctor on board flight AF334 attempted to save the passenger’s life, but they “couldn’t be rescued,” the airline spokesperson said. The plane landed at Logan International Airport in Boston shortly before 5 p.m., with a flight time of roughly seven hours. The individual’s death was confirmed by Massachusetts State Police, which described the death as “unattended”, and said that the incident remains under investigation. Air France said its crew members are “regularly trained to handle these kinds of situations”, adding that it “regrets this sad event and expresses its sincere condolences.” The identity of the passenger will be released once loved ones are notified, police said. The Daily Beast reached out to Air France for comment.
