Patricia Field’s Madonna Feud: Famed costume designer Patricia Field has accused Madonna of stealing one of her designs. Field, who operates a store in New York’s East Village, sells a baseball hat emblazoned with ‘Vogue’ in block lettering. Yesterday, her company’s Tumblr posted an entry titled “Madonna stole our Vogue Hats!!,” detailing a similar “Vogue” hat that Madge is selling as merchandise on her MDNA tour. [HuffPo]
Herbal Essences Brings Back the 90s: Hair care brand Herbal Essences is getting back to its roots, so to speak. The drug store purveyor is feeling the same sense of 90s nostalgia that’s taken hold of the fashion industry by reissuing their classic ‘smooth’ and ‘shine’ botanical collections that were discontinued in 2006. The product, its packaging, and inimitable scents are all the same, save an updated sulfate and silicone-free formula to keep up with current beauty trends. It’s meant to “re-create the impact of the original campaign that resonated so strongly with women in the Nineties but with a modern sensibility,” says Walter Geiger, the company’s vice president. Yesterday, Kolb tied to knot to longtime partner Jay Inkpen at City Hall—in American designers of course. Kolb wore Rag & Bone while Inkpen sprung for J. Crew. Congratulations to the happy couple! FLOTUS Neon Pedicure: Despite President Obama’s much-ridiculed Christmas day outfit, Michelle Obama had a few style tricks up her sleeve that day while standing beside the POTUS: One of them being a neon yellow pedicure. Similar to the frenzy surrounding her DNC grey manicure—which forced the White House to issue comment on its exact shade and brand—the FLOTUS’s neon toes have sparked rapid conversation amongst polish devotees.
