Former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort’s daughter has filed to officially change her last name, apparently to distance herself from her father in the wake of his criminal conviction. Jessica Manafort, 36, reportedly filed the paperwork in Manhattan Supreme Court late Friday. “I would like my new name to be Jessica Anne Bond, in place of my present name,” Manafort said in the legal filing, according to the New York Post. She reportedly chose Bond, her mother’s maiden name, because it “more closely suits [her] profession.” She told the Post she’d decided on the name change “to separate myself and my work from a public perception that has nothing to do with the person that I am.” Her father was found guilty last month of eight counts of tax fraud and bank fraud, and he faces a second trial in Washington, D.C. later this month.
