First there was Linda, who died of cancer. Then there was Heather Mills, which ended badly. But former Beatle Paul McCartney, 69, hasn't lost faith in marriage yet. He got hitched to his American girlfriend, Nancy Shevell, 51, today, which would also have been John Lennon's 71st birthday. The ceremony was held at London's Marylebone Town Hall, the same place Sir Paul married Linda in 1969. Shevell is a New York heiress who is also a trucking executive, having served on the Metropolitan Transit Authority for 10 years. Shevell wore a gown designed by Paul's daughter, Stella.
