House Speaker Paul Ryan said Wednesday that it “obviously” was not appropriate for President Donald Trump to ask for former FBI Director James Comey’s loyalty. “Obviously, I don’t think that is,” Ryan told Greta Van Susteren on MSNBC. Comey is slated to testify in front of the Senate Intelligence Committee on Thursday, and the panel released his prepared testimony earlier Wednesday. According to the remarks, Comey will say that Trump asked for his loyalty and asked him to “lift the cloud” of the Russia-related investigations.
