Philadelphia's The Inquirer, Philadelphia Daily News, and Philly.com will be donated to non-profit organization, owner H.F. "Gerry" Lenfest announced Tuesday. The move is meant to ensure that quality journalism remains in Philadelphia for generations, and the three news organizations are now under the umbrella of the Philadelphia Foundation. Lenfest said, "Of all the things I've done, this is the most important." Lenfest added that he hopes public-interest reporting will be both preserved and enhanced by the move, which willl take financial pressure off the newspapers.
