Talk about a difficult conversation. Olympic double amputee Oscar Pistorius “wants to contact” his murdered girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp’s family, according to a statement by his uncle. “We don’t want to put him under pressure but while we were in the car, that is what he said,” Pistorius’s uncle recounted. “The family of Reeva is in his mind all the time and he knows his purpose would be to be part of the family in future.” Pistorius was released on bail Friday, and will be staying with his uncle. Whether or not Steenkamp’s family will want to see him is unclear. The late model’s father said in a recent interview that Pistorius would have to “live with his conscience” if he was lying about how or why he killed her.
