‘Pitch Perfect 2’ smashed box office records this weekend with $70.3 million in ticket sales, well ahead of its projected $50 million opening. It is the biggest opening weekend for a musical ever. The original film only made $65 million domestically and $112 million worldwide in 2012. ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ came in second at $44.4 million.
