Sony, the struggling electronics giant, took to the stage Wednesday night to unveil the highly anticipated fourth-generation PlayStation to a live audience. PlayStation 4 is complete with an entirely redesigned and personalized user interface; social network, smartphone, and tablet integration; a touchpad controller; and a 3-D camera. âNothing will come between the player, the platform, and the joy of the game,â lead architect Mark Cerny told the crowd. That is, unless players were hoping to use PlayStation 3 gamesâthe console is not compatible with older versions.
