Georgia Tech police fatally shot the 21-year old student president of the campus’s Pride Alliance group Saturday night in front of dorm residents, The Washington Post reported Sunday. Police were reportedly called to a parking lot outside campus dorms after someone reported “a person with a knife and a gun.” Scout Schultz, a fourth-year engineering student, can be heard yelling “shoot me” in a video after police told Schultz to drop the knife. “Nobody wants to hurt you,” an officer says in the video. Schultz was shot after ignoring the police commands and began walking toward the officers on the scene. Schultz died Sunday morning after being taken to a hospital.
