According to a newly released New York Times/CBS poll, 69 percent of Americans surveyed said race relations in the country are generally bad—one of the highest levels of discord measured since the 1992 riots in Los Angeles during the Rodney King case. The poll was conducted after the shooting of five police officers by a black militant in Dallas last week. The discontent is at the highest point it has been in President Obama’s time as president.
