This morning, we asked our readers if they agreed with Rick Santorum that Romney is not doing well in the primary because voters think that Romney’s values "are not the values of the Republican party.”

The majority of you disagreed with Rick Santorum:

No 53%Yes 15%

Many of the other responses people wrote in and voted on were deeply cynical:The Republican Party Has Values? 15%No, Rush Limbaugh's Values are the values of the Republican Party 11%The Republican Party has no values 3%

Even when voters agreed with the premise of the question, there was still a lot of dislike for Rick Santorum expressed:

John B. Who made Rick Santorum the arbiter of Republican values?

Respondents who did agree with Santorum made their case by referring to Romney's record:

Jeff H. When you vote and flip and flop aligning your votes more in line with liberal Democrats. I think your track record speaks for itself then wouldn't it. Romney has presented himself more in line with liberal values than conservatism. Saying this, is Romney running for the conservative leadership spot because his hopes to run as a liberal would never materialize.

In general, there was a lot of skepticism about the wording of the question:

Heather A-M. The Republican Party has values? Maybe they used to, but not since they came down with Obama-psychosis.
