A majority of Americans ages 18 to 30 see Donald Trump’s presidency as illegitimate, according to a new poll. The survey of 1,833 adults was conducted from Feb. 16 through March 6, and it was done by GenForward, in cooperation with the Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research and the Black Youth Project at the University of Chicago. Fifty-seven percent of those polled said they do not view Trump’s presidency as legitimate, including about three-quarters of young black respondents and large majorities of participants who are Latino and Asian. According to the survey, 53 percent of young white Americans view the 45th president as legitimate, though 55 percent of that same group disapprove of the job he’s doing. A slim 22 percent of young adults said they approve of the job Trump is doing in office, while 62 percent disapprove.
