Protests against Arizona's controversial new immigration law are alive with the sound of music: A host of popular musicians have spoken out against the law, urging a boycott of Arizona and recording songs to voice support for legal and illegal immigrants from Mexico and Latin America living in the United States. Those calling for a boycott include pop heavyweights Shakira and Kanye West, Sonic Youth, Ozomatli, and the politically outspoken Zack de la Rocha of Rage Against the Machine. Adding more star power to the cause: Willie Nelson, Carlos Santana, and Mexican pop-rock band Mana have recorded songs in solidarity with Latino immigrants. "These folks are coming to us the way immigrants have always come to us. We really need to welcome these people," said Nelson.
