President Trump on Wednesday blamed “Trump Derangement Syndrome” for his recent bad PR, claiming that some would rather “go to war” than watch his budding friendship with Russian President Vladimir Putin continue. Fox News political analyst Charles Krauthammer, who recently passed away, first coined the term “Bush Derangement Syndrome” in 2003, during President George W. Bush’s first term. He described it as “the acute onset of paranoia in otherwise normal people in reaction to the policies, the presidency—nay—the very existence of George W. Bush.” Politicians, columnists, and others began applying the term to Trump before he even took office.
