Pro-Israel group Americans for a Safe Israel are pointing to a map depicting the region with borders redrawn along the 1967 lines as evidence that such a peace would constitute a threat to the safety of the nation. The map, drawn by New York attorney Mark Langfan in the early '90s, shows that the new boundaries would put 70 percent of the country's population within range of Katyusha rockets. Tel Aviv and Netanya would be among the cities in range of the rockets used by Palestinian militants. The AFSI was furious over the recent agreement between Fatah and Hamas, saying the diplomatic attempt to secure the boundaries would give Palestinians a military advantage over Israel and calling the pact “actually a declaration of war against the State of Israel since Hamas has never disguised its intentions of destroying Israel.”
