A quarter of President Donald Trump’s supporters support abolishing the nation’s chief immigration enforcement agency and extending Medicare eligibility to every American, according to a leading pro-Trump dark-money group. A survey conducted for America First Policies, the nonprofit arm of pro-Trump super PAC America First Action, found that 25 percent of self-described Trump backers support abolishing Immigration and Customs Enforcement, a division of the Department of Homeland Security. Twenty-four percent also said they would be more likely to vote for a candidate who proposes “Medicare for All” than one who favors maintaining it as a seniors-only program. The survey was conducted between September 17 and September 20, and released on America First’s website on Tuesday.
