Rapper Nelly Arrested for Ecstasy Possession, Lack of Insurance

Upon his arrest for the insurance warrant, cops found the drugs on his person.

Rapper Nelly, aka Cornell Haynes II, has been arrested for ecstasy possession and lack of insurance. TMZ reported that the arrest happened Wednesday morning at 4:45 a.m. in Missouri. According to Highway Patrol, he was arrested at the Hollywood Casino in the St. Louis suburb of Maryland Heights on an outstanding lack of insurance warrant, and four ecstasy pills were subsequently found on his person. He has since been released. The Daily Beast has reached out to the Maryland Heights Police Department but has yet to hear back. Arrest aside, Nelly tied the knot with singer Ashanti in December, and the pair are expecting their first child together. According to Entertainment Tonight, Nelly and Ashanti previously dated in 2013, and after a concert in 2023, they rekindled their relationship. “My sweet baby…Well….. (Our) Sweet baby,” the singer captioned a video on Instagram announcing her pregnancy. Neither Nelly or Ashanti have yet to comment on the arrest.
