WHO’S LAUGHING NOW

“Greetings. It’s October 29th. We’re World Series champs,” the account wrote in response to a mean tweet from 7 months prior.

The day after the Boston Red Sox bested the Los Angeles Dodgers 5-1, winning the World Series, the team’s Twitter account cheekily shot back at those who had publicly doubted the team. NBC Sports collected a list of some of the hardest-hitting tweets, all of which were responses to the Sox’s 4-6 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays on their opening day this March. On that day, @pats401Fan tweeted, “There goes the typical Red Sox,” to which the Sox account snarkily responded Monday: “Ugh... Hope we can turn it around!” @PrimeMcCaffrey’s “0-162” was met with “Wrong. 108 wins plus a World Series.” And in response to @JewManji_51’s tweet, saying, “How does it feel to be the least liked team in Boston by a LOT?” the account simply responded: “It feels good to be World Series Champs!”
