A team made up of refugees is set to compete in this summer’s Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. The 10 participants come from South Sudan, Syria, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Ethiopia. “The invention of this refugee team is to give them a home in the Olympic village together with all the athletes around the world,” said International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach. During the opening ceremony, they will be introduced right before the host country, Brazil.
