White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus on Sunday dismissed speculation that President Donald Trump knew a Fox News host was going to call for House Speaker Paul Ryan to step down when he tweeted that people should watch the show. On Saturday, Trump used his Twitter account to promote Judge Jeanine Pirro’s Fox News show, imploring supporters to watch it later that night. The first thing Pirro said, though, was a call for Ryan to step down in the wake of the GOP’s failure to pull in enough votes on a health care plan. “First of all, I will go on record, we do love Judge Jeanine, and so does the president,” Priebus said on Fox News Sunday. “I think it was more coincidental.” Priebus added that Trump does not want Ryan to step down, and said there was no “pre-planning” with the tweet.
