MAGA is furious at the new Snow White movie for replacing a classic song from the original cartoon with a more “woke” tune.
Disney’s new live-action movie cut out the 1937 animated film’s song “Someday My Prince Will Come” and opted for an original tune, “Waiting for a Wish.” Snow White, played by Rachel Zegler, sings about taking her destiny into her own hands this time, without any prince.
Alt-right influencer Jack Posobiec informed his X followers of the news that “Disney has CUT Someday My Prince Will Come from the new Snow White.”
“There is no prince character, and the lead actress has said the original film is dated,” he added.
One comment reads: “Woke Disney continues its descent. Another classic ruined by ideology.”
Another said: “The left destroys everything they touch, with no exception. There’s no surprise that they would do this.”
Brian Ference, host of the MAGAMind podcast, called the film “woke garbage,” and said they removed the original song to include a “modernized feminist alternative.”
Some of the lyrics of the new tune include: “Can I somehow, some way learn to be my father’s daughter?… Someone no one needs to save.”
The film has already faced its fair share of criticism; some are calling it “woke” while others view it as offensive, particularly due to the CGI seven dwarves.
Zegler also faced backlash in 2022 for saying in an interview with Variety that the live-action version would be vastly different from the original story by taking a more “modern” approach to the story.
“We absolutely wrote a Snow White that she’s not going to be saved by the prince, and she’s not going to be dreaming about true love,” Zegler said.
“She’s dreaming about becoming the leader she knows she can be and the leader that her late father told her that she could be if she was fearless, fair, brave, and true,” she added.
Many have criticized the new film’s original songs for being “lackluster,” yet no other detractors have matched the fervor of MAGA enthusiasts.
Posobiec went on to share a new episode of his podcast Human Events Daily on Thursday titled “SNOW WOKE: Disney Cultural Vandalism Set to Flop.” He continues to post about the film on X.
