A photographer has accused Bill Murray of slamming him up against a door and pouring a glass of water over his head and equipment. A police report obtained by the Boston Globe confirms Murray was involved in a dispute with photographer Peter Simon, 71, Wednesday night at a Martha’s Vineyard restaurant. Simon claims he wasn’t taking photos of Murray but of a couple taking in a band at the restaurant for his weekly feature called Vineyard Scene. He stopped to check over his snaps and said he felt someone grab him from behind, turn him, slam him up against a door, threaten to throw him out of the restaurant, and cause him bodily harm. “He looked like he was ready to strangle me,” said Simon. The photographer, musician Carly Simon’s little brother, said he asked Murray “Do you know who I am?” and that Murray then replied with a “Do you know who I am?” of his own. According to the police report, Murray told police Simon was “taking pictures of him and harassing him while he was quietly minding his business.” The report goes on to say cops at the scene advised Simon that “he could take out a criminal complaint for assault and battery at the Edgartown District Court.” Meanwhile, the owner of the restaurant, Katherine Domitrovich, told police Simon had “no business photographing anyone in the restaurant and was generally annoying.”
