Deputy Attorney General Rod J. Rosenstein made a phone call to White House Counsel Don McGahn on February 9 warning that there were issues with the security clearance process of senior adviser Jared Kushner, the Washington Post reported on Friday. At the time, the White House was under pressure for a number of officials not having final security clearances. Chief of Staff John Kelly, just a week later, instituted a new policy whereby staffers who did not have finalized clearances would not be able to view top-secret information, the likes of which Kushner was privy to.
