President Donald Trump has publicly pressured Attorney General Jeff Sessions to fire McCabe, tweeting that McCabe is “a Comey friend who was in charge of Clinton investigation but got... big dollars ($700,000) for his wife’s political run from Hillary Clinton and her representatives.” Sessions reportedly urged Wray to dismiss McCabe and make a “fresh start” with his FBI team. Instead, Wray threatened to resign if McCabe was fired, Axios reports. Sessions reportedly dropped the issue after the ultimatum.
