Report: James Gunn to Write, Possibly Direct ‘Suicide Squad 2’

James Gunn, former director of Marvel Comics’ The Guardians of the Galaxy series, was hired by Warner Bros. to write and possibly direct DC Comics’ Suicide Squad 2, Deadline reports. This will be Gunn’s first project since he parted ways with Disney in July after his old, controversial tweets surfaced on social media. The cast of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 stood by the director after he was fired, but it is reportedly unlikely that Disney will rehire Gunn for the film.
