Actor Morgan Freeman has been accused of harassment or inappropriate behavior by eight women, according to a CNN investigation. Several people described the environment of his production company, Revelations Entertainment, as being primed for “harassment or inappropriate behavior,” saying that Freeman often behaved like the “creepy uncle” in the office. Four people who worked with Freeman in production capacities said he would often make “public comments about women's clothing or bodies” or subject “them to unwanted touching,” CNN reported. One production assistant for the film Going In Style claimed that Freeman attempted to lift her skirt and would touch her lower back, in addition to commenting on her body and clothes on a “near-daily basis.” A senior production staff member of Now You See Me and her assistant were allegedly sexually harassed by Freeman, who made “comments about their bodies” numerous times, they said. Three entertainment reporters also came forward to say that Freeman harassed them during press availabilities for upcoming movies, including a CNN reporter who was six-months pregnant. She alleges that Freeman looked her up and down, and said, “You are ripe,” among other comments. Freeman apologized later Thursday in a statement, saying, “...I am not someone who would intentionally offend or knowingly make anyone feel uneasy. I apologize to anyone who felt uncomfortable or disrespected — that was never my intent.”
