Special counsel Robert Mueller’s team might be investigating former national security adviser Michael Flynn’s tenure atop the Defense Intelligence Agency, BuzzFeed News reports. The DIA recently rejected the news outlet’s Freedom of Information Act request for documents from Flynn’s tenure, arguing that revealing those records could “interfere with ongoing law enforcement investigative activities.” Flynn traveled to Moscow in 2013 when he ran the DIA and spoke to the GRU, one of two Russian intelligence agencies that hacked the Democratic National Committee last year. Last week, it was reported that Flynn’s lawyers are no longer in touch with President Trump’s legal team, suggesting that Flynn might be cooperating with Mueller’s probe into Russia’s election interference.
