Special Counsel Robert Mueller has “requested documents and interviewed witnesses” involving President Trump’s longtime personal lawyer Michael Cohen, sourced have told The Washington Post. Specifically, Mueller has been asking about negotiations that Cohen was involved in during the 2016 campaign to “help the Trump Organization build a tower in Moscow,” where he delivered a letter of intent to Trump from a Russian developer and he sent an email to Vladimir Putin’s chief spokesman asking for help to advance the project. Mueller is also reportedly looking into “Russia-friendly peace proposal for Ukraine” that Cohen gave to Trump from a Ukrainian lawmaker one week after he was inaugurated. Cohen’s attorney dismissed reports that Mueller was looking into his client as “unsourced innuendo.” This comes as former Trump campaign aide Sam Nunberg was subpoenaed to turn over all communications with a number of former Trump officials and Cohen. Cohen is the only one of the nine listed that neither worked for the White House or the campaign and is currently employed by Trump.
