Increasing worries that President Trump would rashly launch a nuclear strike have led to one NATO ally expressing concerns about the commander in chief’s command of the U.S. launch system, CNN reports, citing diplomatic sources. The report comes as lawmakers from both parties have begun to question the decades-old presidential authority to launch nuclear weapons, in the face of erratic behavior at the Trump White House. Sen. Ed Markey (D-MA) said: “The more people think about this, the more they realize Donald Trump can start a nuclear war.” Republican Sen. Bob Corker, chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, will hold a hearing Tuesday on the issue.
