New Jersey’s attorney general issued an “administrative subpoena” to Trump's inauguration fund for “financial records” that relate to any fundraising done in the state, The New York Times reports. The New Jersey subpoena, issued last week by the state’s consumer protection office, reportedly demands records pertaining to contributions from foreigners, audits, vendor contracts, and the fund's tax status. A spokesman for the inaugural committee reportedly said it was responding to the attorney general’s inquiry. A spokeswoman for the attorney general, Gurbir S. Grewal, reportedly declined to comment. This comes after United States attorney’s office in the Southern District of New York subpoenaed that inaugural committee for materials related to “individuals or companies,” among other requests. Manhattan federal prosecutors are reportedly examining whether all of the fund's donations were reported and if any foreigners illegally contributed money to the fund.
