Report: Another North Korean Soldier Defects to South

A North Korean soldier reportedly defected to South Korea via the demilitarized zone (DMZ) early Thursday morning, according to South Korea’s Yonhap news agency. The escape prompted gunfire on both sides of the heavily guarded border. A military official said North Korean troops approached the border following the defection, and South Korean soldiers fired about 20 warning shots.
