Moore’s loss to Democrat Doug Jones has only reportedly served for Trump as a reminder that nominating Sessions may have caused more harm than good. Trump has repeatedly called out Sessions on Twitter, slamming his AG as “weak” and “beleaguered” since he recused himself from the investigations into Russian election meddling and possible collusion with the Trump campaign—and has privately entertained the idea of firing him.
