The White House on Thursday night insisted President Trump and National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster have a “good working relationship,” after a report published earlier in the evening claimed the president has decided to push McMaster out. White House press secretary Sarah Sanders took to Twitter to say there are “no changes” at the National Security Council shortly after The Washington Post reported that Trump is “now comfortable” with removing McMaster from the post, but “is willing to take time executing the move” in order to save McMaster from humiliation and choose a successor. Trump has shown that he is prone to changing his mind, but the reported decision comes the same week that the president fired Rex Tillerson, his secretary of State. On Thursday, McMaster delivered a blistering rebuke of Russia during a speech at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum.
