Top White House adviser and presidential son-in-law Jared Kushner is registered to vote in both New York and New Jersey, according to a report. Stephen Bannon, Trump’s chief strategist, as well as President Trump's daughter Tiffany Trump also held registrations in two states. Accordinng to the Washington Post, Bannon tried unsuccessfully to remove himself from the voter rolls in Florida. Additionally, CNN reported that Trump’s treasury secretary-designee Steve Mnuchin is also registered to vote in two states. As the Post mentions, it is neither illegal nor uncommon to hold dual voter registration, and does not mean that an individual is voting in both jurisdictions. The revelations come as Trump continues to push the unsubstantiated claim that “millions” of people voted illegally in the 2016 election—listing dual registration as among the voter-fraud schemes—thereby causing him to lose the popular vote to Hillary Clinton. Trump is believed to be signing an executive order later Thursday on an investigation into the alleged fraud.
