A bug of the popular calling app reportedly can give the caller access to the recipient's audio and video while it rings.

A FaceTime bug reportedly allows callers to listen in to the audio of the call recipients before the recipients can accept or decline the call, 9to5Mac reports. The bug reportedly occurs when a user adds themselves to a FaceTime call after initiating a call to the recipient. Once the caller adds themselves, the recipient's audio can be heard from the caller's phone even if the recipient hasn't accepted the call. 9to5Mac was able to replicate the bug with an iPhone X and Phone XR, but it can reportedly affect “any pair of iOS devices running iOS 12.1 or later." The bug also reportedly affects FaceTime calls from an iPhone to a Mac computer. Apple announced shortly after reports of the glitch broke that it had taken Group FaceTime completely offline in a bid to fix the issue.
