President Donald Trump spent Monday “seething” and “fuming” over a trio of indictments against his former campaign staffers, according to reports from CNN and The Washington Post. Trump reportedly spent much of Monday huddled in the White House’s living quarters with his lawyers. While initially pleased that an indictment against his former campaign chairman Paul Manafort did not mention him, Trump reportedly became agitated while watching cable news coverage of the indictments, which he believed inflated the three indicted men’s roles in his campaign. Trump’s lawyers reportedly warned against criticizing or firing special counsel Robert Mueller. But Trump’s former chief strategist Steve Bannon weighed in from beyond the White House to suggest Trump push back against Mueller’s investigation, CNN reports.
