A reputed mobster was gunned down while waiting to pick up food in a McDonald’s drive-thru in the Bronx on Thursday night, authorities said. Sylvester Zottola, 73, was reportedly blasted in the head and chest outside the fast-food restaurant at Webster Avenue and Belmont Street just before 5 p.m. Zottola, an alleged associate of the Bonanno crime family, was no stranger to violence and mob disputes, having survived multiple attacks recently. He reportedly survived a stabbing last December and got into trouble with the law earlier this year for firing at a man who pulled a gun on him outside his home. His son, Salvatore Zottola, was also injured in an apparent assassination attempt over the summer that was believed to be meant as a message for the elder Zottola. In both that attack and Thursday’s killing, the getaway car was described as a dark-colored vehicle, according to WABC-TV.
