Emergency crews rescued 120 animals and three people from the Carteret County Humane Society in North Carolina on Friday night as flooding from Tropical Storm Florence took over the area. The animal shelter’s roof had reportedly caved in and the building had been flooded by the time rescuers arrived. Volunteer rescuers with the Cajun Navy, a group that gained nationwide attention for its efforts during Hurricane Harvey, also took part in the rescue operation. Local authorities are reportedly now looking for kind souls to adopt the animals, as well as a few dozen cat and dog crates.
