Texas Governor Rick Perry has no regrets. That's what he told a crowd on Tuesday when he was booked for two counts, one for abusing official capacity and another for coersion of a public servant, after vetoing state funding for a public integrity unit. Calling the indictment "a chilling restraint on the right of free speech," he defended his actions before entering the Blackwell-Thurman Criminal Justice Center in Austin. "I'm going to enter this courthouse with my head held high knowing that the actions I took were not only lawful and legal but right," Perry said. "If I had to do so, I would veto funding for the public integrity unit again."
