Rihanna took the reins on hurricane disaster relief, and pleaded to President Donald Trump to help the people of Puerto Rico following the aftermath of Hurricane Maria. The singer tweeted a New York Daily News cover on Thursday featuring the headline “American Tragedy,” reading “No food, no water, no power, no medical care for the dying... Puerto Rico needs more help, Mr. President!” With the image, Rihanna called out Trump, “I know you've probably already seen this, but I just wanted to make sure! Don't let your people die like this.” The Fenty beauty mogul has been calling attention to Puerto Rico all week, tweeting Trump an instagram video and a news article to push the president into action. Shortly after, the White House finally waived the Jones Act, allowing resources to be shipped to the island quickly.
